If you were anybody else (not a "white male") you could have taken your case to a Human Rights Commission and received some sort of redress.
Being who you are, I imagine everyone would tell you to "sod off", as it is perfectly legal and appropriate to discriminate against your particular demographic.
I've heard your story come out of a few mouths over the years. Even the pale females aren't immune to it. Used to know a nice gal from N.W.T. who put in for a job (public sector if I remember correctly) up there. She was told locals (who were FN) or FN were the targeted group for hiring. While suitable for the position, she was essentially told to take a hike.
Felt really bad for her, she seemed to take it hard. Rejected for not having the proper ethnic credentials.
I imagine people who tried to gain employment in the public sector in Ontario during the days of Rae could tell similar stories.
