Well that, and existing power structures will collapse, which I think is the real concern of those in power. Like you allude to, one populist demagogue fascist winning in one country could cause a chain reaction in Europe at this point.

it's not just the terrorist attacks but the feeling of cultural inundation and attack. I don't think that would be a good thing--massive, indiscriminate bloodletting never is. But it has an air of inevitability about it to me.
