A minister of Science and Technology should believe in promoting and pushing forward both of those disciplines.

A creationist in that position is an absolute conflict of interest. Denying archaeology, biology, and everything we know today as contradictory to what he believes is hardly going to invite him to do a good job.

I wouldn't say it's not very common. I'd say it's done all the time. So much that the Alberta Government has this whole ad campaign about "not all bugs need drugs," one part if which is that antibiotics don't work on viruses.

This post cuts to the crux of the matter.
We have plenty of MP's that are openly religious, should we delve into Sikhism's mantra before several Sikh MP's are given shadow cabinet posts?
Or if the Libs form the next government, should their MP’s who are from religious backgrounds be disqualified from shaping policy because of their beliefs?

This is just like the Stock Day stuff re dinosaurs. Day is now seen as a seasoned politician that does a half decent job, but the lefty hacks that permeate our media just look for any crap to discredit Tory types but ignore Sikh and Muslim Libs.

Double standards again. These are the things that make me dig my heels in against the media and the Liberals.
Once we get past this divisive and meaningless crap we can move on together. I thought Canada was better than this.

I didn't realise it was that bad! The problem is that far too many people think that any little ailment can be fixed by just getting the "right" meds prescribed.

Yes, Newton probably did more for science than any other person before or since. An absolutely brilliant man. Belief in god does not preculde good science. But if you dismiss a physical principle because it conflicts with a religious belief regardless of the physical evidence, that's not good science.

Yup. In a lot of cases, meds can help - but with the symptoms so you can feel okay while your body does its thing.

Kind of like cold meds. Mask the symptoms but it still takes your body 7-10 days to deal with the actual cold!
