Scape Scape:
ryan29 ryan29:
but i do agree that harper should worked with at least one of the opposiiton parties enough that they wouldn't want to bring down the governemnt . that was something i was thinking about last night .

What could he put on the table that they could believe what he says so they would be interested in talks? Harper has poisoned any possibility of that and this was the camel straw. It's reap what you sow time for Harper but for the CPC that's another issue. If Harper's regime falls (and it must die at this point) the CPC should clean the slate and remove Harper so that talks have a chance.

Oh and Layton going to the Bloc after 3 days was a brave new world? Come on scape.
Harper will be the last one standing on this.

Canadaka Canadaka:
Is a possible solution to all this for Harper to step down and the conservatives have an interm leader that is actually willing to work with the other parties and drop the partisan games.

Why should he stand down? Don't tell me you agree with this coalition? Your choice but hey....

Just watching Mike Duffy Live and they were just talking about what I just said, that the conservatives need to replace Harper with someone creditable.

He should stand down if he wants to save his parties goverment. Its clear that Harper cannot command convidence in the house. That or get ready for this coalition.

Harper will garner more votes than Dion or Layton, or the both together. This whole thing has just made the Tories stronger.
Maybe not in Mike Duffy's eyes but the chattering classes are not happy with the Libs, but they are getting used to Harper.

I saw this posted in Youtube, thought it was interesting.
$1:
John A. MacDonald united the Province of Canada with The Great Coalition in 1864 that joined Liberals and Conservatives, which was crucial to the eventual confederation of our nation. Conservatives who argue against our current coalition government are not patriots of any caliber and should be ashamed of attacking the tradition that created our country.
