Actually we have the same law. We get baby tourists who come here just to pop their kid, so they'll have a claim on citizenship. Probably more than you guys get, since, even if they pay for the medical care, it's a lot less than in the US.

Anchor babies is a real problem in Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) a territory of the USA that is close to Asia.

It has a different set of immigration laws and acts independant from the USA. However if you are born there, you are a U.S. Citizen.

Easy target... if you're going to have an anchor babay and can't get into the United States, go to CNMI...

Bill Maher (the guy who called the 9/11 terrorists heroes) is loony left, so your point is....?

He didn't call them heroes, called them brave soldiers for their cause.. I would call them cowards, however, maybe a Muslim may disagree with me.

I don't agree with everything he says... but I like his points on Rand Paul.

Exactly, the baby would be covered but the parents would not. Canadian citizenship could still be applied for based upon place of birth when the child reaches the age of 18.

He didn't call them heroes, nor brave soldiers that I am aware of. What he said was, whatever else they were, they weren't cowards, as they gave their own life. And he's absolutely correct on that. Pointing out that sacrificing your own life is not a cowardly act, does not mean you endorse the act itself.

In short, repealing the 14th Amendment's provision to allow for 'anchor babies' is not racist as it would apply to anyone born in the US to illegal alien parents. If anything, it would cause a lot of pregnant illegals to return home to insure their children were not born stateless.

Can't see You Tube from work so I'm not replying to whatever is posted there.

And, really, I don't have a very strong opinion on Rand Paul but I do recognize the point he was making and I don't think the man is a racist simply because he is reluctant to use government force to solve social problems that were caused by government force in the first place. Maybe someday you'll go back and open your mind and read or listen to what the man says and you'll get it.
