Benn Benn:
First just to say I am not certain of the source of this info. Only this site actually mentions it. A quick search shows me some others do but reference this site and the rest reference nothing.
Even assuming it is true, a lot of cops or law enforcement would not admit to random kids at the door what they do. I've used Recycling technician and behavioural consultant myself.
Not on topic but one of my pet peeves is meeting someone for the first time(male or female) and one of the first three questions they ask is, "So what do you do for a living?"
Before I retired the typical conversation went something along these lines;
"So, what do you do for a living?"
"I work."
"Where?"
"At my job."
"Where's that?"
"The place I work".
Usually by that point they get the hint and go pester someone else.
Now that I'm retired I tell people I'm a relaxation and ergonomics consultant
