I'm listening to him on CNN right now and he sounds like a pompous ass. Someone has to be holding up 'LAUGH' cards as it's hard to tell when he's making a joke...they just aren't funny, so the sychophants need to be directed when to laugh.
In all the debates, he has come across as rude and arrogant. Yes, McCain came across as the angry old man. Why shouldn't he? In the first debate, Obama would never let him finish a thought without cutting him off or butting in. McCain stood silently in respect when Obama was talking, even when it was obvious that he was pissed.
Assuming Obama survives to finish a 4-yr term, I hope there is enough left of this country for us to salvage. His arrogance and self-assuredness even when he has no clue what he is talking about is going to get un in a heap of trouble. He cannot even last one debate without changing his story-lines.
If I had the money to move to the Great White North, I'd leave now. I just hope I have a little money left in 4 years to try then.
I think he's a once-in-a-geneation communicator myself. I think it's great tohave a campaingn based on hope instead of fear. Not that anyone should give a rat's ass what I think--I won't be voting!
It's too bad that divisiveness and partisanship has reached such a low in the US that the attitiude of many Republicans is that they will leave if Obama gets in, and teh attitude of many Democrats is that the country will be ruined if McCain-Palin get in. Fact is, either of them will be a dang sight better than what you got now. The other fact is they are not even that far apart on a number of issues.
It's really ugly down there now. They don't even watch the same news anymore, and all pretense of respect for the opposing viewpoint is evaporating. Normally when that happens you find a common enemy and go to war, but that'll be tough since the US is in two wars already.
Anyways, like Churchill said, you can always count on the Americans to do the right thing...after they've exhausted all other options.
