Your absolutely right! He did qualify. Thats the problem. There is something wrong with the system. You did not get to move to Canada, and sponge off of the tax payers. You have to work for a living. Why do these people get to move to the States and live on the dole from day one? Like Howie Carr said, if the place they come from is so terrible, why do they keep going back on trips,vacations,what not? This story is a wake up call for America to reform immigration (and not the way President Obama wants too),and welfare. Anytime there is a mention of welfare reform, we have to hear from the left that we are being mean. We are picking on the poor when we suggest that welfare recipients have to actually do something to earn their benefits. These guys had a lot more free time on their hands than you or I. They did not make good use of it. I want something done about that.

From what I gathered, they came as refugees. The younger one became a citizen last year, the older one was a kick boxer or something, who obviously radicalized. He was investigated by the FBI, tipped by the Russians (who let him into their country after that) and the FBI couldn't find anything that would make them put him on a no-fly list.
The Chechens usually do not go against Americans. They have no beef with the US, but with the Russians.
I don't consider either of them any more or any less nuts or radical than the Newtown shooter or the Colorado shooter.

Don't forget that most Muslims look at radical Muslims the same way most Christians look at the Westboro Baptist morons. (just wanted to put that out there. It has not much to do with your post...)

I don't think so, Brenda. This is just my intuition, but I think most Muslims (or at least a significant percentage) SAY they denounce violence against the infidels but are mostly being politically correct and polite. I think it's lip-service. I think moderate Muslims regard radicals like juvenile delinquents ("Oh that Danny, getting in trouble again, boys will be boys"). The more I read and observe, the more I'm growing to think that moderate Muslims either passively accept terrorism, at best, or quietly support it at worst. I wish I didn't have that feeling, but I do.
