i doubt Republicans would sponsor a bill dedicated to allowing blacks,
hispanics and poor whites a chance to buy a home..

The loans would still be good if americans had jobs and equity.

The subprime crisis is a symptom of piss poor economic planning, policy and Bush's failed trillion dollar war. If americans jobs were still in american instead of overseas maybe they could earn enough money to pay their debts. Maybe having people who can earn money and pay their debts leads to a better market for housing which increases prices and creates equity.

Dropping million dollar bombs in Iraq does not help americans pay their bills.

The ease of lending standards (from the Democrats) wouldn't have been too much of a problem if it weren't for the SEC legislation that allowed investment banks to leverage themselves 30-40x their assets(from the Republicans).

You can't blame a single party on the mess. In fact, you can't blame just the government. You have to blame everyone who has racked up debt (it might even be you for all I know).

Regardless, the bipartisan plan yesterday was absent of Republicans. You can't deny it.
