Well I went to Vancouver this summer but instead of the old boring #1 I took the Interstate through N. Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Washington, and up into Vancouver.
It was a really odd thing I noticed.
Went I entered Montana it was overwhelmingly obvious it was a red state.
I counted about 10 Christian signs on the side of the Interstate, like:
"This is Jesus's Valley"
"God Bless America"
"I am the Way" with a picture of Jesus.
Almost 1 in 2 vehicles had a "God Bless the Troops" or "God Bless the USA" sticker.
Every electronic store board advertising things always had a "God Bless the USA" banner.
Flags were everywhere hanging high and large.
I actually saw a couple of "Bush-Cheney 04" stickers on cars.
And then I got to Missoula and checked in to the hotel and I counted 6 posters saying:
"In GOD we trust" - adopted as national motto in 195_
I liked the feeling, Idaho and Montana overwhelmingly acknowledged their Christian heritage and theist stance.
Then I entered secular democrat Washington and all of that disappeared.
Just some quirky things I noticed.
I would say "RED STATE" every time I saw a Christian or patriotic sign,

Oh and Alberta came the closest to a "Red State/Province" on my way home in Canada.
I saw lots of "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" stickers on lost of cars.
And I did see 2 Christian signs their.
P.S. Alnoor for mayor of Calgary!

I saw WAY more "Support Our Troops" stickers and signs in the Maritimes than i saw in Alberta (almost none).
I guess i wasn't watching out for it... I just drove through S Dakota and Montana last month and I didn't notice this overwelming display of "red" or Christian propaganda. I really liked South Dakota and Wyoming, some beautiful spots!

If you ever go to Ohio, every so often (especially in rural areas) there will be "ten commandments" yard signs. They're just like election campaign signs, but with the commandments. Of course, the size makes them impossible to read when whizzing by, but I'm sure the people who place them think people are converted by them, or whatever the purpose is.

It gives me a nice smile, and I feel really at home when I see the Republican and Christian signs.
where I live in Manitoba, a farmer-Baptist who has land by the highway put painted a picture of Jesus Christ (OUR lord and savior) and wrote "I am the Way".

I see a hand full Christian billboards on highway 3 in south western Ontario.
The only I remember at the moment is "The truth will set you free."

I have no problem with religous people except they expect me to beleive a story about some long hair that wandered the land and preached to the masses about how he was the son of god,I mean come on........No one's ever seen god and any sightings of jesus are to old to confirm unless it was at the 7/11 and Elvis was standing in line with him waiting to purchase a corn dog with extra mustard.
and as far as I can see every war has had religion at the bottom of the conflict.

Wrong, most wars are from people not staying in their part of the world.
