Years ago I was on Long Beach, a dead Stellar Sea Lion had washed up on shore and had 2 Bald Eagles trying to open it up, when I got too close one of them took off, but the other one dug it's claws in and decided to take it home with him/her. There was the eagle hooked into a couple hundred pounds of Sea Lion flapping his/her wings like there was no tomorrow, it had me in stitches......and where was the camera you ask.....back in the fucking truck!!!!

Nature is amazing isn't it? Always cool when you a "Discovery Channel" moment right before your eyes... I see eagles regularily in my work area (a couple of nests visible from where I work), usually getting harrassed by the seagulls and getting chased away from the river when they are trying to dive for fish. Also see Sea Lions frequently (just today actually) trying to mooch for fish from the local boats... never when I have my camera!

Got a crappy cell phone photo of a Swainson's hawk sitting on a fence pole, but it's much too crappy to share. I'll try again later tonight when I have a real camera.

I'm starting to get some Tree Swallows checking out my new bird houses too!

Still waiting for another hawk to sit on a fence post, but till then, a cute little Tree Swallow. He and his mate are checking out one of the houses I made this spring. If his credit checks out, and he makes a deposit of first and last month's rent, he and the new misses can move in soon.

A new one from my feeder. I've lived here most of my life, and never saw one of these before.

Went to the park today and saw this mama mallard with her 3 ducklings. As I walked around the pond they were "taking a tour" so I was able to get pics from a few angles, in and out of the water. A few of the better shots...

Though this one might seem like I got close, I didn't. I was actually on a bridge that goes over the pond and used my zoom to capture this little fella (or gal)

Don't know what this guy is, and I wish I could've gotten the exposure a little better, but he sure was pretty. In an classy understated kind of way. Kind of a James Bond of birds.

Ran into this bad boy on the river today, first off he was after a Great Blue Heron which got away, he then sat there eying momma Mallard and her chicks for a couple minutes before taking off.
