A few deer visited my 'hood the other day to explore. A couple of the better pics I took.

The guard donkey my dad's had for about 15 years. Little did he realize until about 5 years after he got her, she'll looooong out live him.
She truly is a great guard animal, but she's also just like a cuddly old hound dog. Spoiled baby.

I had one of the most awesome experiences of my life yesterday. I had the day off so I went as a ride-a-long on a trip and while in Dean Channel encountered the biggest pod of dolphins I've ever seen. Estimation by my b/f, who has seen many pods before, was at least a few hundred of them. They were spread across a large section of the channel and every direction you looked there were dolphins. We slowed right down and circled a bit and of course many were curious and followed alongside, checking us out. It was so amazing.

I found myself standing on the back deck of the boat, camera in hand, but too awe-struck to take many pics. My little camera wouldn't have been able to capture it all anyway even in video mode. Also difficult to take stills as the boat was moving and those critters move fast!

Here is one of the better ones. If you look closely there are 4 in the picture.

8O
We saw something like that years ago in our basement, but I was told it was a weasel, I remember it was really long in the body. He either left or or was tasty I'm not sure. :D

This is a pretty haunting sound, these puppies where given to this wildlife park when they were only just a few days old. They spend a lot of time with these sisters, it's been interesting watching video of them growing up from being little puppies, to playing with the Head Handler's 1 year old on the floor, to what they are now.

Their almost a year old, and I get the feeling that they just realized there's a fence in the way. Those are wild coyotes that are getting them all worked up.

Have always definitely loved coyotes, wolves on the other hand, I'm not too sure about. But, either one or the other, there's nothing I'd rather hear when out in the bush, coyotes somewhat close at hand, wolves a wee bit farther away, especially if there's more than one....dogs on the land, loons on the water and just about any bird in the air.
