Well since I have yet to find a section or thread completely dedicated to WWE and ECW I have decided to make one where you can rant/ rave or suggest and just have some free talking about all your thoughts of wrestling of this sort. Old school, Hardcore, Highflying.. Its all good .
I would also like to ask everyone here has some knowledge of WWE/ECW or watches them to tell me their favourite wrestlers .. old or new its all good. Personally my favourites are Rey Mysterio, John Cena and Batista.

I watched wrestling back during the WCW days with all the WCW wrestlers. I don't like ECW/WWE anymore. I do watch alot of TNA wrestling which has alot of the old WCW wrestlers My favorite wrestlers are Buff Bagwell, Rey Mysterio, La Parka, Sting, Owen Hart (RIP).

I stopped watching the WWF a little after it absorbed teh WCW. Mainly becuase it got stupider than usual.
That being said, I will always have a place in my memories for the Rock and Stone Cold.

The rock and wrestling days.
Give me The Hulk vs anyone, Andre the Giant, Ricky the dragon Steamboat, Jimmy Sup Sup Superfly Snuka, Junk Yard Dog, Hot Rod, Jesse the body Ventura, Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, Mr Fuji, Don The Rock Morocco, Mean Gene, Tito Santana, Big John Studd and King Kong Bundy, Captain Lou Albano. The 80's wrestling scene ruled!
Those were the days. Now its about overacting, roided out, egos. No one knows the faces from the heels anymore

I'm not much of a wrestling fan, but I watched a tape of ECW at a friend's house and nearly pissed myself laughing! I loved how the audience would bring weapons to hand to the wrestlers! LMAO
On the tape, Steve Austin attacked some guy getting interviewed with a ladder, knocking him out. He then picked up the victim's beer, said hi to the interviewer, chugged the beer and tossed the empty on the unconscious wrestler on the ground!

I loved the old ECW stuff. Don't like the new wussified ECW brand. One of my favourite wrestling matches was New Jack vs. Angel. I thought it totally insane (in a good way) when New Jack pulled a knife out and cut open Angel's face.
I remember the match where Tommy Dreamer broke his back and kept wrestling, the match where Tommy Dreamer broke his neck and kept wrestling, the match where Tommy Dreamer elbow dropped a guy through a table after jumping off 30' of scaffolding, the match where Sabu did a reverse backflip from the corner into the crowd and paralyzed a spectator in the front row, the match where the Dudley Boyz set Balls Mahoney on fire.
Watching old school ECW was awesome, all other non-Japanese wrestling is boring. I went to see the WWE at the JLC in July and even that was boring. The only part that was the least bit appealing was when The Highlanders missed their move and almost dropped their opponent right on his head.
My all-time favourite match though was a Japanese Death Match between The Great Popo and Mr. Leather. Mr. Leather wrapped The Great Popo up in barbed wire and powerbombed him through a framed plate glass window before setting him on fire. Awesome stuff.

Wrestling went down the toilet when Vince McMahon decided that every wrassler should look like the Governator.
That being said I used to get all drunk up on Sunday nights and watch Garner Ted Armstrong followed by Stampede Wrestling hosted by Ed Whalen, for the comic relief those two people put on.
Now if I happen to be channel surfing I'll stop and watch for few minutes but the WWE lacks the style and wrestlers it had in the past. I much prefer TNA which seems to still have more believable storylines than WWE and alot of the old WCW wrestlers, whom I prefer to the new pretty boys.
As for favorite wrestlers I liked the characters like Randy Savage, the Rock, George the Animal Steel, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Jimmy Snooka etc etc etc.
To bad most of these types dissapeared from wrestling when steriods arrived. Now all you need is a great physique and no charisma to be a star.

Not all of them......................only the ones that get put over. You'd have to be blind not to see that Vince loves pumped up champions. The only rare exception being Mick Foley who looked like the michelin man after a day in a donut shop.
