Of course he was..........................just like three quarters of the other major leaguers.

Trouble is that MLB had no policy in place saying it was illegal. So fuck Congress and their pittifully lame attempts to hang him under the auspices of lying to these self appointed champions of moral righteousness when we all know the real reason is because he's acts like an asshole to the public and sports media.

Who cares, again. I for one would like to see how far we could push human performance in all sporting events. After all it's still human musculature and skill involved, not artificial attachments (cue the bionic man sound effects). Steroids don't make muscles magically appear and turn someone into an uber hulk. They still have to follow a rigorous physical regime to build up the muscle tissue.

It's all about choice. Eventually we're going to be able to use genetic engineering to acheive these goals. The uberman is only generations away.

At what cost?

There are far too many known risks to steroid use. Why encourage it?

Although, in a way, I suppose we already do.

I remember my father talking about this and his views on steroid use in the Olympics went like this.

Everyone with even a tiny bit of brains knows the steroid use over the long term is harmful and potentially lethal. Knowing that, why bother testing? Athletes just find better masking agents and employ doctors to design a regime that will help them "test clean". Why not just say fuck it. You can use whatever you want, no testing whatsoever. After the "super athletes" start dying off, maybe common sense will rear it's ugly head and athletes will start choosing to be clean rather than risking their life.

I know, utopian thinking. :? Personally I don't give a rats ass if they are clean, dirty, whatever. I also won't mourn their premature deaths either.
