What's AWESOME is how my $50-seat is going to cost me $125 for the division series, $225 for the ALCS and $420 for the World Series. Why 420, I wonder?

Blue Jays face O's with shot at clinching East$1: With a postseason spot already secured for the first time since 1993, the Blue Jays have plenty at stake in their series against the Orioles. The Blue Jays are looking to wrap up the American League East and eclipse the Royals for home-field advantage in the postseason.
Toronto, which sends Marcus Stroman to the mound, could clinch the AL East on Tuesday with a win and a Yankees loss and would have home-field advantage in the AL Division Series. The Blue Jays are also one game ahead of the Royals in the race for home-field advantage in the AL Championship Series. After the Orioles managed to climb back into the playoff conversation, they suffered a three-game sweep in Boston where they were shut out in each game.
Still, pride is on the line for Baltimore, and the Orioles, who weren't able to successfully defend their division crown, certainly don't want to see the Blue Jays celebrating at Camden Yards.
For Tuesday's game, the Orioles plan to activate right-hander Miguel Gonzalez, who has recovered from right shoulder tendinitis and hasn't pitched since Aug. 30. Orioles manager Buck Showalter said he would like to see Gonzalez finish strong after battling the injury.
Things to know about this game
• The Orioles' Chris Davis has 43 homers and could have been trying to reach 50 for the second time in three years in this series. However, the slugger has been robbed at least five times. Still, Davis could once again lead the AL in homers. He has showed enough power to garner a lot of attention as he heads toward the free-agent market.
• Toronto has gotten a major boost since Stroman was activated from the DL on Sept. 11 after recovering from a torn ACL. The right-hander has since won all three of his starts, including two victories over the second-place Yankees. Stroman has posted a 1.89 ERA over those outings. He could be a major factor for Toronto in the postseason.
• Russell Martin will be back behind the plate after entering Monday's game in the ninth to catch. Martin is a career .255 hitter with three homers and 15 RBIs in 45 career games against Baltimore.
• Toronto shortstop Troy Tulowitzki is scheduled to take on-field batting practice for the second consecutive day Tuesday. He hasn't played since he sustained a fractured left shoulder blade Sept. 12, but it's possible he will return in this series. linkFirst pitch at 4:07pm PT

10-4 Boston means all Toronto has to do is win one of Wednesday's games to clinch the AL east. In Chicago the White Sox lead Kansas City 3-2 in the top of the 8th, could be more good news for the Jays taking the overall lead in the AL.

Alta_redneck Alta_redneck: Good job Jays What's the magic number for the American League Championship ? $1: The Blue Jays entered the nightcap with a two-game lead over the Royals for the top record in the American League, which would secure home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Toronto owns the tiebreaker between the two teams and would clinch the top spot even if both clubs finish with the same record.
If Toronto finishes with the best record, it would face the winner of the AL Wild Card Game presented by Budweiser that will take place on Tuesday. The Yankees and Angels currently have the two Wild Cards, but the Astros and Twins also remain in the mix with four days remaining in the regular season. Toronto won its season series against New York 13-6, 5-2 against the Angels and 5-2 against the Twins.
The Blue Jays' magic number to clinch the top spot is three. If Toronto misses out on that opportunity, it would face the winner of the American League West. Texas is holding onto first place in that division with a 1 1/2-game lead over the Astros. Toronto has a 4-2 record against the Rangers this season and went 3-4 against Houston.

Booze kinda works that way, none of them were there in '93 but winning the AL East is grounds to celebrate. Let them enjoy themselves, they'll pay for it tomorrow with the game being moved up to 12:05 pm ET. The guys lost the 2nd gameso, the magic number is still 3. Kansas City and Chicago are tied at 3 in the 10th inning.

Blue Jays-loving juror excused from murder trialOTTAWA - A prospective juror successfully used the Toronto Blue Jays' upcoming playoff run as a reason not to be a jury member in an Ottawa murder trial. The man, who had already been selected as a juror on a previous day, sent a note to Justice Patrick Smith explaining he has tickets to the Oct. 8 playoff game in Toronto. "I've waited 20 years for a moment like this," the man wrote in the note, which the judge read in court at the beginning of the trial Thursday. The judge and the lawyers agreed to release the man from his civic duty. "Hope you enjoy the game," the judge said affably before the man left the courtroom and was replaced by an awaiting alternate juror. The Blue Jays clinched the American League East Division title Wednesday in Baltimore. The Jays haven't won the division since 1993. http://www.calgarysun.com/2015/10/01/bl ... rder-trial

Toronto's 8-4 win over Tampa Bay temporarily moved the team a half-game ahead of the Royals for the best record in the American League, pending the result of Kansas City's game against the Twins. The Blue Jays own the tiebreaker because of a better head-to-head record, which means their magic number to clinch the top spot is at two. Kansas leads Minnesota 3-1 in the top of the 9th. The incredible flying Pillar
