Gotta acknowledge that their starting pitchers didn't do very good in this second round. Way too many runs given up, especially in the first and second innings. If they'd played up to snuff then all the assorted bullshit like bad umpiring, fan interference, and media hijinks wouldn't have been a factor.

I only really watched a 30 minute recap of one of their best games, but it's sad to see them knocked out of the Playoffs.

I have to agree, the pitching could have been a lot better, too many runs in the early innings while the pitchers warmed up, the other glaring problem I noticed was their inability to score once they managed to get runners on base. I don't know exactly how many but there were way too many runners stranded on base.

Hopefully they can hold enough of the team together to make another run next year. Price is probably gone, according to the SUN, so that should open up some cash to try to land a proven playoff pitcher. A few tweaks here and there and they still might have as good a shot as any other team next season.

As far as I'm concerned, all the team needs are some first rate pitchers! I haven't spent the time to see what the roster looks like for next season but, if they manage to keep the majority of the players I think they'll be in pretty good shape!

Still, it was a hell of a season for the Jays and I look forward to next year and watching them make another run. I am permanently on the bandwagon now.

They were also way down in home runs which is what they banked on all year long. If you aren't hitting homers, then you need to get base hits when you have runners 'in scoring position'. That's one thing that they did really poorly.
If they could have kept hitting homers close to the rate that they did in the regular season or got more base hits with runners in scoring position they likely could have overcome the pitching glitches.
KC is an extremely good team and they hit with such frequency...always chipping away.

Anthopoulos is gone. Rejected his contract extension.
If you'd have asked me yesterday, "Who's more likely to back with the Jays in 2016, Dickie or Anthopoulos?", I'd have answered Alex Anthopoulos. Jays exercised their $12M option in Dickie.

For what it's worth at least the Jays got beaten by the team that went on to win the World Series because KC finished off the Mets tonight.

Outstanding game for the Jay's in their last meeting with the Phillys yesterday. Happ allowed just 3 hits and 1 unearned run in 7 innings. The bats put up 13 runs in total and a bunch of homers, doubles and singles. The closers cleaned up and the Jays won the series. Edwin is on fire - top of the league in RBIs right now. Today they take on the Orioles again in Baltimore. GO JAYS GO!

Baltimore sits top of the ALE and have four games in hand on the Jays. The Jays are 2 games behind the Orioles and are currently 2nd in the wild-card spot. Aaron Sanchez will be on the mound for the Jays today and Mike Wright will do the honors for the red birds. Jose Batista is on the DL with a foot injury and is expected to be out for a couple of weeks. We'll miss you Joey. Heal fast. GO JAYS, GO!

I still don't know shit about baseball. But my coworkers seem happy about the Jay's performance again this year.

I didn't know shit about it either, Canadian Mind. I jumped on the wagon last year when the Jay's got hot and never jumped off. I've watched every game they played this year where I've been able to pick up all kinds of baseball knowledge. I still don't know a lot but I have a much better understanding of the game now.
The Jays were absolutely lights out fantastic against the mighty Baltimore Oriole's today. BC's own Michael Saunders had a hat-trick and scored 8 runs. The pitching staff allowed only 3 runs for the Orioles who went down 13 - 3 in their own park. How sweet it is.
I'm going to enjoy this victory because these are the Oriole's and they didn't get to the top of the ALE by not coming through when they need to. Tomorrow could very well a totally different ball game - no pun intended.

Mowich Mowich: BC's own Michael Saunders had a hat-trick and scored 8 runs. In fact Saunders only scored 3 runs with his 3 homers but, he also drove in 5 runs with those 3 HRs.
