I don't know what the rules are, but i didn't know power lay-ups are allowed in the dunk contest. seeing dwight howard doing his 'dunk' on youtube after hearing about it, i realize his hand didn't touch the rim and he just throws it in. it's great athletic ability, but is it really a dunk?

I don't think touching the rim is the qualifying feature of a dunk - I'd define it as throwing the ball downward into the hoop, which is completely different from a layup, which is throwing the ball upwards toward the hoop and letting it fall in.

He would have broken his wrist if he'd hit the rim that hard

sure its a dunk he powered the ball into the net and i think green should have gotten more points for the birthday cake that was sick
