Watching that video, the flag didn't "fall" out her hand. She dropped it. That is disrespectful. Hell, them allowing the flag to touch the ground is disrespectful.

I've watched the video about 10 times with as open a mind as I can. 1) It is dragging on the ground at the start. I don't think it is or was being done in a negative way. More just not thinking or not knowing it was. 2) Yes she did DROP it. I can't tell if the other player, I cant think of her name but the one all Anti-Trump talker, kind of looks like she is encouraging the lady holding the flag to drop it. Dropping the flag like that is Disrespectful. The one lady immediately rushes in and grabs the flag off the ground (Great for her).
My last thought on this is IF the US team had not become so political with their talk and had conducted themselves as representatives of the US and not of their individual wants and political stance then this would not even be a controversy. Their actions and words leading up to this is what has gotten them into even more scandal type coverage.

I'm curious, is the flag touching the ground more or less disrespectful than it being rubbed against a dude's junk?
I find it hard to take the criticism seriously when it's the same attitude that's made the American Flag into boxers, drink coasters, chairs, rugs/floor mats etc etc. I wonder, what's the most offensive product you could put a flag on, other than toilet paper. That's too easy.

One more time then: $1: Benghazi hero John “TIG” Tiegen pointed out that the blunder happened despite the fact that players were briefed on proper flag etiquette.
“I know dragging it on the ground and throwing it down like it’s a piece of paper isn’t part of that. It’s not hard to hand it off and celebrate. Your coaching staff or trainers are there to take it. Damn Amazing disrespect for a photo op,” he wrote, addressing Long, then adding a thank-you to O’Hara for picking up the flag. All I know about Trick's worry is it has nothing to do with this.

Tricks there is a difference between a Flag and an image of a Flag.

I do find it strange that people will rise up and support others when they are offended, but dang let someone be offended about the way the US Flag is treated and those same people demand that you accept the offensive manor.

For the record I agree she should have shown the flag more reverence than that. It's just an ironic dichotomy among the people who freak out over this sort of thing.

Getting all worked up over symbols like flags and anthems and coffees cups is just political correctness run amok. Symbols aren’t real. Notice how these people have no problem disrespecting women or entire races and religions

By your logic, religion isn't real; and races sure as shit isn't real. We're all the same species. We just have visual variance in our appearance. The longer the myth that people from Africa, Asia, etc are different; beyond the regional mutations they evolved to thrive there, the longer racist shit will persist for.

Wonder if the flag on military uniforms was made in the US or China. No Tags but dang does make one wonder.

For me it's more along the line of a build up of things some of the players have done. Each one making things worse. For me, if all that political BS hadn't happened during the approach to the final game. I would be far less critical. Yet because of the words and actions of some players I take a more cynical look at this.
