I wanted to know your opinion on the race at the US Grand Prix. Only 6 driver actually raced.

$1:
The victory came in a six-car starting field after seven of the 10 Formula One teams elected not to race after Michelin, the tire supplier for the seven teams, advised against using its tire due to safety concerns.

I've been an F1 fan for 15 years and this is as bad as I can remember it. Something has to give or there isn't going to be F1 pretty soon.

If you've ever been to a Formula 1 race they make the Champ and IRL cars seem like go-carts. It woud be a shame to not have it here on a NA track.

Micheline should be banned from F1 for a year for not being able to provide a tire that could handle the course. No excuse, it wasn't the drivers fault in any way, they brought back up tires but they were told that those to could fail in that corner. They had no choice.

Actually, they were forbidden to use other tires than those used for the qualifications.
It's a new rule.
Michelin is going to refund everyone anyway. I think that's Ferrari's fault because they refuse to put an obstacle before the corner to speed down the cars while the 9 other teams accepted.

And when you say "NA" do you mean North America ? Because there's a Grand Prix in Montreal too.

Have been an F1 fan for years and it is a shame what happened in the US.

I think Michelin needs to take most of the blame for what happened. However, that said there is a whole lot more going on than just Michelin failing to provide the correct specification of tyre.

Such as and not limited to:
- Unity problems with the GPDA.
- Indianapolis resurfacing the track since last years race.
- Apparently there is no other race corner raced or tested on such as Indy T-13. Tire manufacturers can only make a guess. Except perhaps Brigestone who, I think, owns Firestone. Firestone tires ran on the newly re-surfaced Indy track during the Indy 500. which I am sure gave Bridgestone something to work on.
- Max Mosley and desire to show who's boss and his apparent desire to punish the GPWC teams.
- FIA bends rules for Bridgestone in Brazil 2004 over tire issues. Bridgestone brought wrong tires for the level of wet weather conditions. They brought intermediates and Michelin brought monsoon. Monsoons were needed, but instead the FIA waited and ran the field over the track until the track conditions suited Bridgestone and passed the stage that Michelins were effective.
- etc.

It sure is a shame what happened in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway .Iv never seen that done before, and its too bad it had to happen in the US. The Ferrari team and others had no choice but to listen to their bosses and race, it wasn’t up to the drivers. Giselle your right, Formula 1 make the Champ and IRL cars seem like go-carts. F.1 have the best drivers in the world and the highest paid also.

F1 is the best form of raceing period. What happened here in the US. was disgusting, a tire company should not hold cars back from raceing either the tires work or dont. I can recall many time drivers loseing controll of a car do to bad tires and the tire company did not tell other drivers useing the brand to pull out of the race.

This incident almost ruined the F1 season. If the product you sell does not work dont sell it. A moto my great uncle said to me once when refering to a car he worked on. Its stuck with me ever sense.
