Why is Canada so woke? One of the discussions in the video states that Canadians pride themselves in being nice. The speaker then goes on to say: agreeable people are cannon fodder for psychopaths. The predatory psychopaths have figured out how to cloak themselves in the guise of compassion. Truer words have never been spoken. All of this bullshit is being forced on us in the name of compassion.

Canadians really aren't all that nice though. But Canadians absolutely love to mindlessly luxuriate in the perception that we're nice, and will jump on any trend that helps to boost that false image of ourselves. We're really no better than most other countries in the West. In terms of sheer arrogance we're considerably farther ahead than most as well in displaying that particular unlikeable national characteristic. The Trudeaus have been the gift that keeps on giving to Canada's neurotic need to be seen as good as both father and son have been expert in flooding the country with non-stop feel-good nonsense despite the annoying presence of the overwhelming facts in the background that show our pride in ourselves is truly undeserved. Canada hasn't accomplished anything of real world significance in decades. With the prevailing attitude seemingly permanently glued to the national character it's also highly unlikely that Canada will ever do anything of real significance ever again. And endless virtue signaling is absolutely the most pathetic "accomplishment" ever.

Canada can behave like this because for over seventy years we've been living for free under the protection provided by the military arsenal of the United States. The US will simply not allow any foreign violence to occur anywhere in North America, period. That, and only that, is the true reason Canada (and Canadian politicians especially) get to do the shit that they do.

There's nothing wrong with looking at someone like Churchill more critically than instead of mythologizing him with rose coloured glasses. Did he pull England through the war? Yes. Was he also an alcoholic, a racist and a warmonger who cost tens of thousands of young men their lives at Gallipoli? Also yes!

You posted in the other thread about Bill Maher having a more nuanced opinion but completely the nuance of other people's lives and act all aggrieved that any discussion of their failings (along with their successes) is a "destruction of civilization".
