I'm looking forward to 2022, and think it will be a great year. 2020 was a disaster for almost everyone (myself included), while 2021 rebounded quite a bit (at least for me).

[B-o] Here's to 2022, and peace, prosperity, and overall good times.

Happy New Year to everyone here at CKA!

Strutz Strutz:
Good riddance to 2021.

Personally, 2021 wasn't that bad. I finally changed careers after more than two years od trying, and gained a loving girlfriend. 2020 was an unmitigated disaster, but 2021 wasn't too bad. That being said, there is always room for improvement.

I'll drink to that!

2021 was actually a worse year for me personally than 2020, with my worrying about the impact of the heat waves and floods on other Canadians, all the shit that happened politically and especially my Dad dying in March. Not great for my mental health.

That said, I know how fucking lucky I am. I got a job I absolutely love, I did a lot of really good writing this year and the support of a lot of people I know both in person and online was a huge help. I also hope that I did at least a little bit to help where I could with the support I could offer.

Hopefully 2022 will be better not just for me, but for all of us as Canadians. One skill I've definitely gotten better at this year is keeping away from stuff that could set me off again, and ignoring the urge to get involved even when it won't accomplish anything. And if the pandemic starts to wind down and the economy picks up again, then so much the better.
