Watching the results and it looks like the NDP will maintain their majority, with only a slight reduction, if anything. The Libs look to have disappeared completely, too bad Gerard looks like he will be gone. It was interesting that they were interviewing some North End voters. When they asked the native woman why she was voting for the NDP, she stated because the NDP candidate was 'brown'. :? Can you imagine the shit storm if a white voter had said they were voting for someone because they were white? 8O

Give it a shake Shep. The only reason you can say this is because the fed NDP has never held office. If in they would probably be just as good at governing as the Provincial ones have. (Old what's his name- now a lib the exception :( )

Don't think so. the federal NDP is just too big an umbrella organization, trying to be a home for groups and causes no one else wants. The provincial NDP in Manitoba and Saskatchewan rely mainly on labour and centre left voters that don't have a real liberal party to represent their centrist views. They are pragmatic because they know that if they tried pushing some of the BS the federal NDP espouses that a lot of their votes would be gone. this why many provincial NDP members tend to vote Liberal in federal politics rather than NDP...even they don't trust the federal wing.

Maybe the federal NDP will root out its loons, maybe not. However when you have nutballs like Mulcair running for the leadership, it doesn't help their cause

Well, if people will vote for nutbars like Maurice Vellacott I can't see what they have against Mulcair :( . I don't know about the new crop of Quebec M.P.'s but the old line in the caucus are not bad at all. Of course you disagree, but I think we could match M.P.'s of the Stevealicious party who are in need of Psychiatric help with any nutcases in the NDP. I can think of several in Saskatchewan.

Beaten McFadyen to quit
$1:
In remarks to the small subdued crowd, he also took a shot at the NDP for running a negative campaign. "Regrettably, today in Manitoba it appears that fear and deceit have won the day," he said as supporters shouted "shame."

Hahahah! That's funny that they would be upset about fear mongering.

The sky-is-falling campaign failed this time.

Manitoba has always been fairly level headed.

I don't know about that. Federally the CPC did very well here. We had just as much reason if not more to punish Harper for shunning our aerospace industry as we did when we punished Mulroney for that.
