$1:
The acting mayor of La Loche, Sask., and the member of Parliament for the region are calling for the school in their northern Saskatchewan community to be torn down and rebuilt following a shooting Friday.

"I want that school to be rebuilt. Torn down, rebuilt ... because of the trauma," Kevin Janvier said Sunday following a meeting with provincial and national leaders, including Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall.

While Janvier said the meeting with Wall went well, he added the community needs funding, in many areas, to improve the quality of life.

This could pose a little problematic as the division can barely afford to repair the teachers residences.....holes in walls, broken windows etc. This is division wide, not just in La Loche, and has been an ongoing issues for a few years. I've seen the condition of the school properties there and in other communities with in the division and they are pretty bad in many cases. Fife was very accurate in his description of it as being Third World.

Also it needs to be kept in mind that this is a provincial school, not a band school with access to federal funds.

Sure, money grows on trees, what the hell, let's do new schools for everyone.
