i don't know if its anything about nova scotia particularly or just a larger epidemic of rotten kids.....

anyway, there are lots of questions to answer, like motive, cohersion, etc. and i definitely think the culprits deserve some swift reprimands....in line with their part in the incident....

glad the girl got away....she is alive at least and hopefully will be okay

One of the girls is also charged with unlawful confinement and eight counts of breaching court orders. The other faces one charge of breaching a court order.

Sounds like a nice group of kids.

What's going on in Nova Scotia anyway? Is there more of this sort of thing going on than usual or are we just hearing more about it?

Lily it's not much different from the Reena Virk(sp) murder in Victoria, except this time the victim managed to escape her assaulters or it might have ended EXACTLY like the Virk murder.

It seems to me that we are hearing more and more of girl on girl assault, so much for the old phrase "weaker sex".

The Reena Virk case was exactly what I first thought of too. I only mentioned Nova Scotia because there seems to be a lot more of this sort of thing happening there lately... or it could be that we're just hearing about it.

I think it's a little bit of both. More girls involved in it and a press more willing to report it.

Well, you stop teaching morality to the kids and you get immoral kids. I'm not seeing why anyone's surprised by this.

Exactly.

Why teach children morals and accountability when you can simply make excuses for them, and blame society or their past for their actions?

It's so much better for their little egos.

Yep, we can't hurt their precious self esteem by telling them they've been bad by beating and torturing someone. :?

So much for perceived notions:

Little girls are not:

"sugar and spice and everything nice."

Anymore but were they ever.

"Hell fire hath no rath like a woman......"

Who exactly says they stopped teaching kids morailty? Of course it depends entirely on what you consider morality.

Fuck off. Why does every argument on these forums come down to "It's the liberal party's fault" or "it's the conservative party's fault." Are people here really that shallow? Or is it just easier blaming the other camp for peoples' failing than acknowledging the fact the problem runs deeper than what political party is in power?

BTW I'm not intending to direct this soley on you Hwacker; this just seems to be the general direction of most discussions around here. "Oh it's the fault of THIS party...blahblahblah."

To be honest its almost all "its the Libs fault" and its done by only 4 or so posters. They just do it so much that they have effectively subdued any possible true political debate.

Morals are not taught in the schools because it's hard to get kids with a sound sense of morality to accept [BF] and out-of-wedlock pregnancy as normal.
