I am looking to move out of the province of Quebec.
There are many reasons but the major issue is the provincial politics.
I am considering moving to the Toronto area GTA in Ontario.
Could anyone help me with some advice please? I would probably establish myself in the suburbs. Therefore, which neighbourhoods are best? (Example Brampton, Richmond Hill, Mississauga and so on…).
Other factors would be rentals prices, safe neighbourhood, employment, cost of living.
I have already visited the Toronto area a couple years ago. I actually found it quite appealing. Plus, there are so many employment opportunities there. Also, people were quite friendly.
I have done some research on the net already. Although I was able to gather some helpful information, I would very much like to hear comments from people that already live in the area. Now, if any of you have any links for apartments or rental information, it sure would be great.
Any information would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I have searched the net and found the usual links for apartments across Canada.
Does anyone out there have any additional information?
I was wondering if there were any publications or sites which give greater details on rentals in the Toronto area.

Hey Dude!
You know what? You are doing the right thing
If I ever could get the chance to get out of this province, I would.
The politics here in QC sucks. There is always a threat of separation. As of now, it seems like there will not be any for a while. But as soon as the ``fucking PQ`` comes around, they will call a referendum as soon as they can.
GET OUT DUDE!
There is also Alberta. It seems like there is plenty of opportunites there.
The most important thing is that you have fun. Look around and check out what you like.

Brampton, Richmond Hill, Mississauga...........no place is good around here. It is all going down hill if you ask me. Ok your point about jobs, ya if you want to work there are tons of jobs. I guess if you like living in a rate race with ever expanding sub-division projects and vast numbers of "new canadians" then any of the GTA worsk. But the one place I would not even think about is Toronto or Scarborough. Not unless you own a flack vest and can keep you head down at all times.
For the record I live in Brampton and have been here for about 8 years now.

Do you have a family? If you are single, you should live in the city. You can save a lot by not owning a car, and if you don't have school-aged kids you really shouldn't worry about "safety" in any part of Toronto.

I find the suburbs more appealing. Maybe less traffic. Plus, with public transportation, it seems like it is quite easy and fast going to the downtown area.
I am leaning more towards the western section of the GTA. How is it over there? Mississauga, Burlington, Oakville.
Looking pretty much for affordable rentals and safe neighbourhoods. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

You got some serious balls putting down Scarborough when you live in Bramladesh. It's like the pot calling the kettle black.
Bottom line, there are good and bad aspects of every part of the GTA. If you plan to rent, live anywhere in the GTA but if you plan to buy and move in the next 5-10 years, consider East or Toronto in Ajax, Pickering or Whitby.

Don't people glow in the dark there because of the nuclear reactor?

For rentals look here: http://www.viewit.ca/vwgta.aspx
But please take my advice: work close to where you live. Rush-hour traffic is not fun in this area.

Thank you very much. And it is very much appreciated that you posted it.
Although, I must say that I already knew about that particular site, it is still a nice gesture on your part. Since I am not too much familiar with the Toronto area, every helpful information helps. Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.
