We are getting closer and closer to connecting Harper and Ridenrain and the rest of the Harper gang with oil money.
$1:
A Globe and Mail feature article by Charles Montgomery today has delivered what should be a death blow for the climate change denial and anti-Kyoto attack group, the Friends of Science.

The G&M says that FOS has taken undisclosed sums from Alberta oil and gas interests. The money was funneled through the Calgary Foundation, to the University of Calgary and on to the FOS though something called the “Science Education Fund.”

All this appears to be orchestrated by Stephen Harper’s long-time political confidante and fishing buddy, U. Calgary Prof Dr. Barry Cooper. It seems the FOS has taken a page right out of the US climate change attack group’s playbook: funnel money through foundations and third party groups to “wipe the oil” off the dollars they receive.

Ridenrain does not openly admit he is paid, but thanks, Ridenrain for the helpful lead!

I also received great reviews as Dick Deadeye in the 1981 production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s HMS. Pinafore.

Now, why can't you teach Aging Redneck the fine art of repartee?

My good sir. Fine repartee is earned by years of hard work, not given away like some party favor. I could pass this talent as easy as I could pluck the very thoughts from my being, place them in an envelope and mail them to someone.

Now why exactly are you soiling this fine financial scandal thread with this environmental rubbish?

Iggy:

Stephen Harper is a smart guy, but you're giving him too much credit.

For very good reasons:

a. The same person who planned the devious routing of Oil Industry money, through the University concerned, and into foundations and finally to FOS is expected by me to have planned the financing for Harper's attack on Dion.

b. The Oil Industry has a strong reason to prefer Harper and Baird to Dion and the Liberals. The same vested interest that worked for FOS works for the Ad Campaign.

c. Harper timed the advertisements BEFORE the announcement of the Election, to keep his expenses out of the scrutiny of the Election Commission. This is like NRSP saying that its donors are protected by a confidentiality agreement.
:?:
Is this a coincidence?

:?: :?:
Why did both NRSP and Harper need such strong privacy?

:?: :?: :?:
Because the 'financial engineer' is the same?

:?: :?: :?: :?:

I find it unusual that you are always taking up for Harper. It comes rather neatly. Take the above, for instance. On the face of it, anyone would think that you are calling Harper 'not so smart' but when we boil it down, all that is left is:

Harper is smart.

Harper is not dishonest.

RI supports Harper.

Honestly Iggy I've always felt it was the RCMP that had the agenda not Harper. The powers that be in the RCMP are rather powerful and have an agenda that isn't always best for Canada and her people.

I agree that the RCMP Commissioner Giuliano Zaccardeli had an agenda.

I also think that the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Rick Hillier has an agenda.

These gentlemen have a job to do, and their job is easier with more money and less oversight.

But it is wrong of Harper and Zaccardeli to create a false impression, such as announcing an RCMP investigation during an election campaign.

Always4Iggy Always4Iggy:
Here is a sequence of events that needs to be investigated:

a. Just before the last election, the RCMP announces that it is investigating the leak of the policy regarding income trusts. This 'leak' was deduced from the sudden investments which profited from the price changes that happened when the policy was announced.

b. Harper benefits like hell. Paul Martin loses about 25 seats, and Harper forms a minority government.

c. The RCMP Commissioner is in trouble particularly due to the legal work of Liberal MP Cotler.

d. Harper goes to great lengths to keep the commissioner.

e. Harper creates a series of ads in Quebec, using the Income Trust theme, accusing Liberals of being under investigation. The ad campaign is suspicious, since it is carefully done BEFORE any election is announced, so that the source of the money is out of the scrutiny of the Election Commissioner.

f. Finally, Harper eases the RCMP Commissioner out under huge public protest.

g. Harper runs his ad campaign, just before this day.

h. Today, the RCMP finds that the leak was from the Finance bureaucrats, themselves, and the Liberals are not involved.

What was the role played by Harper in all this? Why did he run the ads, when he would have known the RCMP findings? Why did he hesitate to withdraw the false ads?

The thieving bastards own the CBC and 90% of the Newspapers in Canada, have stacked the supreme court with bleeding heart Liberal Judges, have stacked the senate with cronies from everywhere but Alberta, and they still can't come up with anything better than Dion to lead them out of their self imposed excile. I hope the bastards rot in opposition. There is absolutely nothing the Liberals could hang on Harper that they havn't already done in spades. Ha Ha!

Pour, oh, pour the pirate sherry,
Fill, O fill the pirate glass!
And, to make us more than merry,
Let the pirate bumper pass!

For today our pirate 'prentice
Rises from indenture freed;
Strong his arm, and keen his scent is
He’s a pirate now indeed!
