Just like last January when it was the cons saying "lets go to the polls". Hell, we already had riden posting an editorial that Iggy missed his chance and you are complaining he might send us to the polls.

Whenever the polls favour a party they want to have an election and when they don't then they say "its not the right time for an election".

Both the Libs and CPC are exactly alike on this matter and the NDP and Bloc seem to want to go to the polls immediately after every election.

Some gaffes?

You're being generous...almost 20 people dying from Listeria after the government let Maple Leaf inspect their own plants...

What really irks me about this and I've seen it from these parties before. When Harpers report was tabled. The Bloc and NDP immediately said they are against it with out even fucking going through it and are willing to take the government down over it.

They obviously dont have the intrest of Canadians at heart when it comes to actions like that, and dont give a shit about Canada its so obvious. The NDP and the Separtist make me sick, anyone who can support them with actions like that needs their head examed.

What good would it be for Canada at this point in time of a ecomic crisis they keep on hymming and hawing about, what good would it do for the country to be side track as to what we've done so far to stimulate the economy and throw the country into election mode at the tune of 300 million.

When it comes down to it there are really only two parties to choose from in this country, the Liberals and Conservatives. It was evident last night on the news when I listen to Iggy talk about taken the time to go over the report , saying basically he want's to be responsible to Canadians and can't rush to judgement like the Blocheads and dippers did and decided to vote it down without even reading the fucking thing.

I have respect for the Liberals and Conservatives, but can't stand the NDP and The separtists even more now. bunch of no talent hacks, that have no chance of winning ever but are evidently in the house just to cost us tax payer dollars while trying to destroy our country. As far as I'm concerned they should be booted out.

Iggy knows it, Canadians have no appetite for a summer election and his party would suffer greatly if he triggered it over this. The Blocheads and Dippers never have anything to lose.

I agree, at the very least the Liberals put thought into outcomes. The NDP and Bloc have the advantage of being able to vote any way they want because they know it'll fall on the Liberals to support the government. An election 2 and a half years after the last is too soon, 8 months after the last one is just stupid.

Then why is it that when Iggy supports the CPC like he did on the crime bill all he got was attacked for being weak and ridiculed because he went against the wishes of the more left leaning Liberals?

You say that an election is stupid but if Harper is going to launch attack ads against Iggy and any support Iggy gives the CPC is attacked then an election is just what you'll get.

Ask someone that attacks Iggy for supporting the government. I don't think you'll find a post I've made against support for the government.

If he was attacked by Liberals maybe you should take it up with them. I don't attack the liberals when they support the Tories. Keep in mind I'm not supportive of all Tory ideas and bills. I.E. Mandatory sentencing if caught with marijuana (5 plants or more)

Just remember why were having talk about election is because the two other dipshit parties voted in down as soon as it was tabled without even looking at it, in the context of everything that is going in the world and in this country that is so irresponsible and they deserved to be turfed. If it was just the Liberals, the conservative and maybe limit it to one fringe party not two it would be business as usual.

God what color is the sky in your world, 2 weeks ago you were bitching about the economy and how baby bush wasn't doing enough. Now you want to derail what've done and spend 300 Million on an election not a good idea my separtist little friend.

You didn't exactly voice your support and nobody pointed it out to riden that its hypocritical to bitch about the Liberals when they support the CPC and when they don't.

Further left leaning Libs grumbled about the min sentence bill support and it was proof of party fractures according to the resident hack cons. Iggys support of Harper was pretty much ridiculed as Dion-esque weakness to avoid voting down the CPC lest it trigger an election.

We are talking about an election because its automatic when you have a minority government facing a confidence vote. I agree that rejecting it out of hand like the NDP and Bloc did is stupid. Still there seems to be a lot of crap about Iggy playing politics or "threatening" an election when he has been clear on what it will take for his support and he has prefaced that with heading the wishes of Canadians who don't want a summer election.

300 million seems like a brutal waste of money right now.

i think an actual election costs more than 300 million , i'm unsure of the exact cost but i think its much more as there is 308 ridings in canada so thats about a million each , plus you'd have to put into account elections canada ad campaigns and subsidy's paid to political parties and rebeates to candidates . but i believe its much more when all put into account .

well at the moment its not just the conservatives who don't want one , canadians in every poll i've seen have been against the idea of an early election . they simply don't want one and see no need for one .

I want Harper gone, but I don't know if I want an election right now, because like someone already said, I want to see a majority. I think given some more time the conservatives will make more and more "gaffs" and make a majority more of a possibility.

If you recall roughly the same % of Canadians didn't want an election last Octobre either.
