ziggy ziggy: Going to the big auction in Calgary to see what Top notch construction has up for grabs?
That's going to be a old construction guys party isn't it. It might be a good time to pick up a hoe. There's about 70km of water and sewer line going in the ground around here in the next couple of years. Phase 1 was just tendered, 60 different contractors from 3 Provinces put in bids on it. Those prices are coming in cheap so phase 2 will come out later this summer if the land deals can be made in time. Phase 3 to 5 next year. It would be nice to get a chuck of iron on that, last years estimate was $107M for the 1st phase.

Keith bought 3 new hoe's,a loader and a water truck. I might make the auction, just to see what the old boy had in his collection.

hurley_108 hurley_108: ziggy ziggy: And you wonder why there's seperatists in Alberta with a comment like that.
I just chaulk it up to jelousy, what else could it be? The ROC thinks oil just spurts out of the ground like on the beverly hillbilly's show.
Were a gas exporter right now,not oil. You're throwing around separtism and jealousy like you think I'm not living in Alberta. I wonder, though, if so many Newfies would be working up in Fort Mac if they had to cross an international border to do it, and if Alberta would be so happy to watch all their wages leave. My brother is a mechanic for Finning in Fort mac and half the guys he works with live in Australia and commute. He lives in California as do lots of the guys up there.

The County's of Lacombe and Red Deer cautiously let out some work. Now their rubbing their hands together knowing how cheap it is. Last year they were happy if they got 2 bids on a job, this year their getting around 15.

On second thought, the easterners might not be back. Plenty of projects coming up back home. I guess Alberta will have to put those 60,000 immigrant workers on the oilsands payroll. I hear they're well trained.

Like any good premier, he's getting the most out of this patchwork, makeshift country as he can. Call that dumb if you wish, but he's sure looking a whole lot smarter than Stelmach.

So the big, "We're in the Oil Business," party that Mr. Millions announced and then cancelled 3 months later, is back on for this summer?

More like the gas business and Alberta's Encanna is leading the way on the east coast.
Good for them.
