BartSimpson BartSimpson:
xerxes xerxes:
Not to take anything away from the article, BUT, Bart have you heard the stat the in the last 5 presidential elections, the candidate with actual military experience has lost?

?

The last five Presidential elections had the following results:

2008 - Obama

2004 - G.W. Bush - National Guard vet

2000 - G.W. Bush - National Guard vet

1996 - Clinton - draft dodger

1992 - Clinton - draft dodger

Bush would count as having military experience since he was active duty ANG.

I would not brag about bushs army record, his dad pulled strings to keep him out of any action

Hey dont get me wrong the army does some cool stuff especially the engineers and ammo techs but when it comes to having all of the comfort of home, I prefer a ship, and just for the record I started off in the infantry so I do have some background in green (and I dont mean the colour I turn), but regardless of which job you decide to do in the military just remember it isnt as bad as everyone says and it isnt as good as everyone says, success comes from your attitude and your ability to push your boundries.

As a marine engineer there have been many times where I have worked in excess of 18 straight hours fixing a diesel only to have something else break soon after, I may not run 5 km/ day but I still bust my ass.

Infantry carrys radios, plays with explosives, repelles out of helocopters, plays with big guns, and honestly, the ruck sacks get lighter with practise. If you want to kill people and get shit done, the infantry is the place to be. Armored Recce and engineers can claim to do the same thing that we do, but the truth is nobody does it like we do. There are no equals, no rivals, and you don't even need good grammar.

Exactly! Everyone in the military busts their ass in their own way. From the infanteer to the sailor to the airman.

People may tease and make fun but its just part of being in hte military. Anyone who says your job is useless just means that they are no good at theirs.

And yes infantry carry radios...we rarely do that cuz we like to stick them in our trucks. But where do you go when that radio breaks?
