When it is applied to government, is there really anything that is totally wasted because part of the wages of public workers is spent on competitive markets.

And of course there is the political leverage (if one wants to narrow the defiition of waste). Government (of all stripes) spend money primarily to enhance the party's chances of remaining the government. Should some benefit derive from this spending, it is more in the arena of happenstance....

Then there's Winnipeg South MP Rod Bruinooge whining to the media that Morgantaler got the Order of Canada. Bruinooge sounded like an abused puppy while suggesting that women should not have the right to choose and that a man who stood up for the rights of others should not be recognized.

Oh piss off. It's a funny little story about some pathetic government folks who can't even buy cakes and you want to turn it into a national scandal? That was a funny read and Maxime Bernier may be an dufus for not talking to thecompany who makes them before hand but that's life.
