I never understood why we have an inukshuk for our games considering it is an Inuit symbol not an Indian one. Although at least it is something I suppose I'm not sure what that London one is.

I liked our original logo better though.

Its a Pac-Man inukshuk....Waka Waka Waka....

Now when I first saw it, my reaction was much the same as pretty much everyone else it seems, "ugly", "a two year old did it right?", "please tell me no one paid for that" etc etc.

After having it pointed out to me by a poster at SDA, I think I know the real reason the majority of folks detest this thing, it looks like a swastika!!

This is awful. Makes me wish Paris had been selected instead.

As was pointed out on another board, it does remarkably resemble two people engaged in the act of fellatio................ 8O

Thinking about it, a swastika would look better. If that doesn't speak to how bad this fool thinkg looks then I don't know what would.

The worst thing about London's logo is that it cost $850,000 to develop. they need to reopen the tower of London for whoever designed and then accepted that logo.

I've seen better graffiti on boxcars.

New London Olympic logo triggers epilepsy scare
Updated Wed. Jun. 6 2007 5:17 PM ET

CTV.ca News Staff

An animation featuring London's 2012 Olympics logo was removed from the official website on Tuesday after concerns were expressed it could trigger epileptic seizures.

Ten people complained and some had suffered seizures after watching images depicting a diver plunging into a pool, according to British health charity Epilepsy Action.

The Olympic group said it has taken steps to remove the animation from the website and are working to re-edit the film.

"The flashing lights or the patterns drive rhythmic discharges in the brain which leads to seizures and convulsions," explained Dr. Berge Minassian, a neurologist specializing in epilepsy at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.

Minassian said one in 10,000 children experience seizures after viewing stroboscopic (flashing) lights.

"And a smaller rate, maybe one in 50,000 children, will have seizures when there are patterns that are moving in front of them," Minassian told CTV Newsnet in an interview. "So this may be cause for concern."

What worries experts is the potentially large number of people who would see the animation, leading to possibly hundreds of cases of seizures and convulsions unless the animation was pulled.

"The best previous example of this is the Pokemon (cartoon) which was happening in Japan in 1997," said Minassian. "About 580 Japanese children had seizures when that was shown because of the rapid flashing lights."

"These are normal people who wouldn't have seizures otherwise," he added.

The graffiti-like logo, made up of four jagged pieces that form the numbers 2012 in a variety of colours, was unveiled Monday. Within hours, an online petition went up, asking for a new design.

Chief organizer Sebastian Coe said the design was aimed at attracting young people

I like the first one it reminds me of punk rock paosters circa 1978. Not as anti design though, but I like it. childish nothing check out this Roxy PosterImage This one has more the crude cut out. It is bright coloured.

At least hurley's example was probably done by an actual child. Not taking any bets on it though ;)

Each month was commemorating something. I don't remember what September was, but it had something to do with children.

I liked that quarter - it was one of my favourites. ;)

This wikipedia page says its theme was "Canada through a child's eye." And apparently you weren't alone in liking it as it had the third highest mintage of all quarters that year.

To each their own I guess....

Remember when the quarter had a caribou on it. Seems there is always something dumb on it now, the children are still better then the poppy though.
