Today I was listening to Charles Adler who was interviewing some Ontario Liberal MP named Mark Holland who was accusing Harper of being a "climate change denier" (typical liberal legitimacy tactics).

Anyway, what threw me (and Adler) out of our seats was this Holland idiot claiming (and I kid you not) that the Liberal Party is developing plans so that following a successful election they will take control of the oilsands and regulate the production and sale of Alberta petroleum.

This guy went on to state that the Americans were using up all our oil and must be stopped and that at current production rates Alberta will try to develop nuclear power and we can't meet our Kyoto targets.

He also told Adler that the Liberal Party takes very seriously a study done by the British in which it was estimated that 1% of GDP will fix climate problem now and that it will take more than 100% in 20 years. As such, he told Adler that job loses in Alberta and a loss of control of the industry in favour of Ottawa was an acceptable casualty in order to preserve the planet.

Wow, talk about Ontario/liberal arrogance. Even if I didn’t despise the liberals for the NEP, corrupting politics, abandoning our soldiers and gutting the military and destroying the social fabric of Canadian society I would never ever ever vote for them with this kind of threat.

My sincere questions for you liberals are;

1 - Is this guy for real? Is he insane? I've never heard of him, is he the latest Carolyn Parrish?

2 - Do you agree with him?

3 - Will the Liberal Party apologise, deny or otherwise spin this tomorrow? Should or will they care?

4 – Do you think they can pull it off and keep Alberta in Confederation? Are you willing to gamble Canada for the sake of the Kyoto emissions?

I know nothing about the man. In spite of the NDP thrustbucket, this is no flame thread and I would really like to know what Liberals think of his statement. Now that it is out in the open is it anti climatic or just the beginning ? I am also very curious if this will pick up any media attention. The only paper to make referrence to it so far is the Edmonton Sun and only in passing to support an ant-Liberal point. Warren Kinsella was confident the Liberals will issue a retraction of some sort but if the media is not picking up on it.....

Well Sheriff, you don’t seem to have the right badge on to be telling people, what should be posted here. I’ve just heard the interview in the audio vault here.

http://www.am770chqr.com/station/audiovault_members.cfm ( you have to register )
Interview starts @ 1:30 pm 02 / 01 / 07

What GFPB stated is all most word for word and if a person wants to ask a Liberal a question, don’t you go to where they hang out ? After hearing the interview, I’m interested to hear their opinion also.

I may not be a great friend to the Liberals and that is obviously evident in the preamble but I am quite clear and nonpartisan in asking:

grainfedprairieboy grainfedprairieboy:

Never intended to debate it. Just wanted to know what the Liberals themselves think and was hoping to get them discussing it as I feel this is pretty significant. Pretty telling that a dipper would be the first to rush in, sabotage the poll and be the first to try and stifle debate.

Now quit being such a typical neo-panzie and stick to PMs to the moderators expressing your outrage and wounded sensitivities and they will decide where to move it and if this is in fact this is too sensitive for liberals to debate internally.

How long do you think it will be until Ottawa legislates how many trees BC can cut down in a year?
