Preston Manning rebuilt the conservative movement in Canada after Brian Mulroney -- who, ironically, if he were on trial for being a conservative there wouldn't be enough evidence to convict -- destroyed it. Preston Manning built the Reform party. Preston Manning sacrificed his own political career to build the Canadian Alliance. Only once the Canadian Alliance had been built was it even feasible to discuss the merger with the Progressive Conservative party.

Stephan Dion, on the other hand, is on the verge of taking an ailing -- but mostly healthy -- party and driving it directly into the ground, at least in my own opinion. I know the Liberals of the board -- to whom this section rightfully belongs -- willl diasgree with me. It is certainly their right to do so.

While this may not be the place for other peoples opinions, atleast you have the rational to explain yourself fully, and at least acknowledge that folks ehre probrably wont agree with you... commendable.
