Announced that Gerard Kennedy will run in the Toronto riding of Parkdale - High Park in the next election. He has the support of former candidate Sam Bulte, but may still face nomination challenges.
I don't imagine Kennedy will have difficulty winning the nomination given that this was the riding he has already represented provincially combined with his high profile. I'd say he's also got to be the favourite over current MP Peggy Nash as well. Though the riding is represented Provincially by the NDP as well, now.
Personally, I'm glad to see him in this riding because I think he'll play a big role in the national campaign, and it's best that he be in a riding in which he is already well known and doesn't need to be 'introduced' to voters. I also think he should get into the House as soon as possible.
