Why did you choose your particular CKA moniker?
Mine was the result (many years ago) of being on a military course in the US where after hours three of us were in a bar outside the base and what had started out as friendly conversation with five American soldiers turned ugly when they started taking our (country’s) acceptance of gays in the military a little too seriously. When our own masculinity was questioned it eventually resulted in a pretty significant brawl. I was rewarded with a broken nose, chipped tooth, two black eyes, broken finger, a terrible Charlie horse and my forehead had a large gash in it (I never figured out from what.). My buddies suffered similar injuries while the seven American soldiers (one of the original five abstained but the remaining four were joined by three others) received comparatively light injuries. The point is, when the MPs showed up we were still given ‘er and ready to keep going until we couldn’t stand. They took us to cells where we were treated by the medics. The next morning we were benevolently turned over to our Sgt. Major who read us the riot act in front of the Yank MPs, gave us each 10 hours of pack drill to be served an hour at a time at the end of each day, and were confined to barracks for the duration of the course. All this was ostensibly to please the American CO who charged the hell out of his soldiers. Back home we heard that the Sgt. Major had actually been bursting with pride at the way his soldiers had stood their ground and was reputed to have said to a WO he was glad that “it was a couple of my Grain Fed Prairie Boys in the bar that night and not some of those fat fricken flat faced numpties!”
