The Common Loon is already the Ontario bird. The Raven is already the Yukon bird. The Black Capped Chickadee is already the New Brunswick bird. The Steller's Jay is already the British Columbia bird. The Great Horny Owl is the Alberta bird. 8)
I nominate the Robin. :D

I didn't realize there was already an official vote on. If your bird is not on the list, you can go to the site to suggest it.

Common Loon is number 1. I win.

Not yet.

I haven't entered the Red-Necked Grebe which, given it's plumage has the strong potential to be a big winner in the west. ROTFL

I would have thought that the loon or the Canada goose was already our national bird. :?

One is our currency and the other one is our tax system.

Based on their election results I'm hardly surprised.

I like the snowy owl. Owls are symbols of wisdom. The snowy part is reflective of our winters and it is an excellent hunter. So much cooler than a loon.

Owls are beautiful. But the snowy owl just seems to represent the North.

How about the crow? Intelligent. Not afraid to take on the eagle. Likes to cluster together.

How about the Turkey Vulture?

Beautiful flyers, their primary defence against an attacker is to vomit towards them.

I thought some more and I think it should really be the goose, because Canada Goose. :D They flock and the boys are pretty and they do fly by things with near perfect formation and honk for our kick ass nation. I also sometimes can see them from my house. [B-o]

They fly over our house, all of the time along with a Lancaster, a B-25 a gaggle of Harvards and Airbuses every few minutes.

If there was a robot bird vote I'd have to vote small or helocraptorz or those thin white lines way up there because that's all we see. :D

No, but it's nice when the nation not having a national bird is of interest to some people. It means stuff is going great.

I see your point. It's a nice luxury to live in a place where the priority of the day isn't having to catch and eat the national bird in order to stay alive.
