It is growing by leaps and bounds so you really can't dismisss all of it as Walley. True that much of it is urban sprawl though. Like everything else, there are good parts and bad parts.

Canadian_Mind Canadian_Mind: xerxes xerxes: Pluggy, avoid Surrey like the plague. For starters, the women are trailer trash, also, it's a prime exmaple of the horrors of urban sprawl.
Try White Rock, New Westminster, or North Vancouver. If he can afford it. try langly or aldergrove if you want more affordable living without all the plauge shit going on in surrey.
Good point. But Langley sucks. I lived there for a few years and it's as ugly now as it was way back when, except for Brookswood.

Oh of course. There are some nice parts in Surrey, it's just that Whally's reputation overshadows them.

thats why aldrgrove was also suggested... what about fort langley. nothing like the small town feel with all the malls just 15 minutes across the highway.

Where was it in the Fraser Valley that was recently listed high on the drug nurder list? I'd agree that the farther out the better but that Port Mann bridge is a parking lot before 6am and then all day long.

Oh, it wasn't just drug merders. It was murders per 100,000 people and Abby was number 1 in that dubious ratio. We're down to number 3 ths year.

PluggyRug PluggyRug: Can you give me the 'Horses Mouth' regarding Surrey.
Will be moving out West soon.
Frank
The crime rate has dropped quite a bit in Surrey -- since I moved out of there.

Maybe not in Vancouver, but people survive on that here in NS.... people don't realize the cost of living in the Maritimes, so you don't need a huge salary to make due.
(but no, I wouldn't be happy with 30k even here, let alone BC)

lily lily: Without your grade 12 though, I'd say 30 grand is pretty good.
Yeah, without, maybe.... people who can't bother to finish high school have issues, in my opinion.

Highschool? Sorry... if I'm an employer, you're not getting a job without a highschool diploma. If you come up with a good reason, I may change my mind, but it's unlikely.
