Ex-President Ronald Reagan dies

$1:
Reagan suffered from the advanced stages of Alzheimer's Disease
Former US President Ronald Reagan has died, aged 93, after reports in recent days that his health had taken a turn for the worse.

He had suffered from Alzheimer's disease, and had not been seen in public for several years.

He died at his home in California, according to a friend quoted anonymously by Reuters news agency.

He was US president from 1981 to 1989 and had lived longer than any other holder of the post.

Mr Reagan revealed in November 1994 that he was suffering from Alzheimer's disease, which destroys brain cells and causes memory loss.

Since then, he retreated to his home in Los Angeles, where he had been nursed by close members of his family.

"My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still;
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will;
The ship is anchorÂ’d safe and sound, its voyage closed and done;
From fearful trip, the victor ship, comes in with object won; 20
Exult, O shores, and ring, O bells!
But I, with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead. "---Whitman

Sorry, but I see no more reason mourn the passing of Droolin' Ronnie than I did the passing of Tricky Dick.

The man was a danger to us all.

I'm a sick man for not mourning the death of a retired politician who did the world great harm when he was alive?

I didn't kill him RA, but I'll be damned if his dying suddenly makes the things he did more palatable, especially as people are dying in Iraq as the result, in part, of the legacy of Reagan's policies.

If it makes you feel any better, I won't mourn when Mulroney dies either, or Saddam, or Osama, or Mitterand, or Maggie Thatcher.

Why should I? I don't know these people, but they have affected people's lives, mine and others, in a negative way.

Not at all.

The main reason you are sick is due to your all-consuming hatred for all things American.

Hope that helps.

"not mourning" the death of a retired politician is not sick, Rev -

Shitting on people who ARE in grief, by disregarding their memories and feelings, IS....

What would you know about that Non-Rev? I never shit on anybody, just spoke my views.

I don't think you even understand my views, RealAmerican. I'm not a pacifist. Give me a reason...a real reason...to go to war and I'll be there. Tell me lies to further personal greed and I won't.

Not that I agree with the Rev's comments, but to just make a minor point here. From what I saw, America didn't give a shit when Trudeau died, so why should the Rev care about Reagan dying?

If it was "not caring", gang; that would be one thing.... but not allowing people just a few days peace while they deal with things is another.

Only vultures arrive moments after death, to pick apart the bones.

Its like laughing at a funeral.

And dont send me any more surly, half-assed-intimidating notes, Rev - I keep the latest story quiet, only out of respect for our former friendship.
Don't press me, okay?

I'm not Wing; I'm not going to lose control and let emotion take hold. You're pretty good - I've told you that before.

But I've debated better.... Image
