So I finally got my new bedroom set up. As I was watching the news on Global-standard def- I happened to glance over at the tv reflection in the mirrored closet doors. 8O The reflection comes thru in high def! Checked out a few more channels, same thing! I've looked around on the net for an explanation, but none to be had. Anyone care to have a go at explaining how this is happening? Anyone else ever notice this happening?

my best guess would be that the image is smaller and since a mirror doesn't have pixels there is actually an improving of quality.

The tv/pic both look the same size. And I can read whatever script comes up on the screen clearer! Looking directly at the tv, I'm about 11 feet away. Tv is a 32 inch Toshiba LCD. Part of the puzzle is that when I watch in the mirror what I am seeing is actually from 22 feet away.

Without seeing for myself I'd have to say it's your eyes. Although your eyes may be fine, as you get older it becomes harder to see things clear the closer you are. Having the TV farther back may make it easier to see clearly. You may already have seen this when it comes to reading. My mom has been saying for years she doesn't need glasses to read.............just longer arm.

This ain't my imagination, nor is 'Granny Lambert's porch climber' behind this! I'll show you guys the set-up, and it would be easy enough for you to duplicate it and see for yourselves.

It is easy to explain! It's "The Copperfield Effect"

It is all done with mirrors.

The mirror could be curved, and acting like a lens.

I assume your seeing a reflection of it on the opposite wall. I think it can explained with your eyes and losing clarity as you get older, no matter how much you want to deny it thats the reality. Unless you recently passed with 20/20 vision.

The light traveling from TV to mirror undistorted. When you view the mirror, you are watching the "TV" only as far as you are from mirror.
Atleast thats what I think ?

I for the longest time refused to get glasses although I had weak eyesight as a child but just hated fiddling with glasses, just last month I got a pair, although my vision is very lightly impaired and just passed a driver license renewal but with the glasses on, looks like I'm viewing the world in HD.

And HD turns into Super HD !

OK, You's tell me if I'm imagining this!

The room is 12 ft wide x 13'6 long. I took these pics while watching from about 11 ft away on the length of the room ( don't know if that matters). The mirror doors are not curved! They are 4 1/2 ft from where I was sitting.

Pics came loaded backwards, but you still can see what I'm talking about.

Don't know what's happening but I do have a suggestion, Yogi.

When you get a lady friend in the bedroom, try to figure out a way she won't be able to see you directly, only your reflection. :D
