$1: One of the Miner siblings' three lawyers is their father, Garrity's ex-husband, also named Steven Miner. And there is a conflict of interest. Case dismissed. NEXT!!

Also: $1: When the couple divorced in 1995, the kids moved in with their dad. I wonder how he got that done. Oh wait, he's a lawyer, right?

When my girlfriend and me split years ago, I got custody of our son. Contrary to what alot of women think, men can be as good or better a parent than women. Just because someone has ovaries does not automaticaly make them a good parent.

Only if you are a druggie or an alcoholic (and that goes both ways) you might lose custody. As an aside... Does this really sound like "good parenting" to you?

Kids don't know that law is serious monster, more serious they think. It's dangerous to play with it. The mother deals with what she grew up. Sure It's hard to grow up kids, and she made a mistake in something. So that's the result.

Yeah. Her mistake was not being able to win from dad, the lawyer, in the custody battle. That made such spoilt brats out of them.
The story states they divorced in 1995. That is 16 years ago. The son is now 23. 1st grade math learns he was 7 then. When you raise your kids teaching them it is ok to sue your mother for bad parenting (or even THINK of suing over a birthday card WITH NO MONEY!!), then you, as a parent, did a terrible job. Nice going, DAD.

As an aside... Does this really sound like "good parenting" to you? He claims that he tried to talk the kids out of the lawsuit which they insisted on carrying out. By representing his kids he saved them paying a lawyers fees. What it looks like is that the kids are selfish brats and for whatever reason don't like mom. You expressed that it was only due to his being a lawyer that he recieved custody, implying the mother would be a better person to have custody. My post was bang on the point, you are just too stubborn to admit that men can do the same or better than women at raising kids.

Right... at strange as this may seem to some people, maybe she was just a bad mom. The kids could have decided, by their own, to go live with her later but they didn't.
But of course, since we don't know the whole story, all this is just speculation.

As an aside... Does this really sound like "good parenting" to you? You don't know the full story about the mother, you just assume she got robbed of custody because her ex is a lawyer. For all we know, she could be a certifiable wack-job .

If she would have been a certifiable whack-job, they wouldn't have sued her over "check-less birthday cards" but over "certifiable whack-jobby behaviour".
