I've wanted this for 25 years now, and I never stop wanting it. 14' wide body with a 9.9 HP Mercury motor and glide-on trailer. I've visited the boat show almost every year, and made sure to go see the current version of it, in hopes it would be mine shortly thereafter.

I've come agonizingly close now on FOUR separate occasions, but either finances or sheer stupidity has kept me from finally being able to have it. I feel as if the universe keeps toying with me and won't let me have it. I'm 41 now and want to enjoy it while I'm still young enough for it. I don't want to finally get it when I'm 70 and struggle with back pain and old age.

LMAO! I'm 41 and already have back pain, so....

Anyways, here's what happened all four times I got close to my dream:

1) Ex-fiancee crashed my truck (which had been perfectly set up to tow the boat/trailer). I was a year away from paying off the truck and was going to put the boat on the line of credit I had at the time.
2) Car blew up. My Taurus wagon blew it's whole fuel system, so I had to dump it and buy another vehicle (which took all my spare money).
3) Car blew up. My sedan's engine exploded on the way to work one February day. I was planning on getting the boat that April.
4) Last fall. I bought a hitch for my current car, only to find out that the installation would void the warranties. Was also told my a mechanic friend that towing with my vehicle might ruin the transmission.

My sister bypassed that by buying VW Passats that already had bad transmissions. They had problems, and dealers would literally pack them with sawdust to muffle the problems. 2000km later *poof*.

My Jetta needs to last me for quite some time, so ruining her with a trailer hitch isn't an option right now.

The boat dream is on the sidelines, again....

I have a small inflatable boat that folds up and fits into my trunk. I usually take it down to the lake several times per month in the summer months and paddle around. As awesome as it is, it doesn't compare to an aluminum boat with a nice outboard motor.

Most people want riches and/or property. All I want is my little boat.
