http://ca.news.yahoo.com/4-10-americans-still-hold-creationist-views-20101218-063203-267.html

$1:
If you're in a room of 100 people, odds are likely about 40 think God created humans about 10,000 years ago, part of a philosophy called creationism, according to a Gallup poll reported Friday (Dec. 17). That number is slightly lower than in years past and down from a high of 47 percent in both 1993 and 1999.

$1:
A significantly higher percentage of Republicans indicated a creationist view of human origins,

Splains a lot, I guess.

Especially when you consider that the Know-Nothing movement was a nativist American political movement that originated as the American Republican Party and then you had the Half-Breeds that were a political faction of the United States Republican Party.

Actually I'm pretty sure it's only a few thousand years at most since Vili, Ve, and Odin made the world out of Ymir's corpse.

Well, I heard that scientists that planned the Apollo mission to the moon were expecting 10 feet of space dust represtenting millions of years of space dust on a moon with no atmosphere.

Instead, they found maybe 1/4 inch of dust, enough to leave footprints behind that will last for a very long time.

Is it possible that the 1/4 inch of dust represents 6000 to 1000 years worth of dust?

Well, no they weren't expecting 10 feet of dust on the moon. Look at the landing pads on the lander. Also, do you think they would have had a simple ladder to let an astronaut wade down into 10 feet of dust?

I've heard this 10 feet of dust thing before, all from creationists, never from NASA.

This isn't really too surprising, I remember reading someplace a few years ago that approximately the same percentage of Americans couldn't even find their own town on a map of the USA.

Makes you wonder how they can find their way home, even with Car-ins and TomToms...
