More true than some of us probably realize. I refer to myself as just "Canadian" as I know of native blood from at least 2 ancestors, black from one. And a mix of everything else to boot.

I got mad at one Census taker because they wouldn't put 'Canadian' as my nationality.

I guess the quebec government is corrupted and lies about its own people heritage .. now that sucks ... Im glad it just affected the french canadians not the canadian as a whole .

I never refer to my Indian ancestors unless I am forced to, I am simply Canadian. I live in Canada and I consider Canadian culture to be my culture. Therefor I am Canadian

"Indians" are from Asia.

That said, seems like this Editorial is mainly just a swipe at Quebec, rather than something informative.

I am a born Canadian, but I am very proud of my 'Indian' face. My blood runs half Anishnabe and half Polish/Jew. I practice my traditional Anishnabe culture, even though I was part of the 60's scoop that went on through the 70's. I know my language because I sought out elders to teach me...very hard to do because of residential schools. My children know their language the dances and the traditions...but because of what I have taught and what elders have taught.

I am Canadian first...but I will never lose my culture. The article is bunk I am very proud of who I am.

In the article it also says some Canadians across Provinces...I am that one. I think it is more of a swipe at Quebec, but I thought I would put my two cents in due to my heritage.

no it said that the quebec live in other provinces. it didnt say anything about other canadians.I doubt that the other europeans who came to canada went through the same process. so many other europeans came to canada and not every one of them mingle with the native.maybe the quebecois did but theres many white people left in canada.
