The reason I created this thread was because of a post on another thread made by Brenda.
She pointed out a very important fact. Having a child for the wrong reasons.
Brenda Brenda:
If I read correctly (it is kinda early in the morning here...), she has been in Canada for 10 years. Why didn't she apply for PR then? Got a job, and go through the PNP-system? There are many ways to get into Canada legally. This is not one of them... "She hopes her daughter will sponsor her someday". Man, what a b*tch of a mom.
I'm really sorry for the girl. She was not born for the right reasons... I hope one day she will be able to live with this story.
Every year millions of children are conceived by illegal immigrants in Canada and the USA with the hope that in 18 years they will sponsor the parent.
In the United States this term is called an
anchor baby.
In many countries in Europe, a child born of foreign nationals does not get the citizenship of that country, but only that of the parents.
Should Canada & the USA abolish the rights of instant citizenship to anchor babies of foreign nationals?
