I am a proud Canadian citizen [44years of age] living and working in Alaska as a commercial fisherman/captain. Don't hold that against me.
I am delighted to find such a forum and excited to reconnect with the greatest people and country on earth.
Thank you for this site and opportunity.
Doug

Welcome aboard. Allow a Yankee to welcome to a Canadian website. This forum is a lot of fun and you get to learn a lot.

By the way do you fish king crab and oppies like on The Most Dangerous Catch?

 Thanks for the welcome notes.
I have fished crab but not in the Bering sea. It makes for a good tv show , [a ten foot wave in a forty foot boat is similar to a thirty foot wave in a 125 foot boat]my sea-cowboy days are over I hope but I see enough bad weather.
There is not consistent pot of gold in the ocean and from year to year different fisheries make bank. Blackcod and halibut are king now.Gillnetting been hot and seining was the place to be this year.
I met an american girl from Maryland when i was working in Atlin BC in 97 as a hunting guide.Married in Juneau Alaska {just down river from our base camp}and never left.
Alaska is very different from America but still US.I am still amazed when i cross the border into Canada no matter where I enter, the people are politer, the ground and amenities are cleaner and a higher level of self respect. Its night and day to me.
I love coming home to Canada visit family .

Welcome from Southwestern Ontario. If you stick around, you'll soon get to know the regulars here. Under no circumstances should you loan money to raydan. That includes so-called "investment opportunities".
