hello. im from new jersey near new york city. I am a firm believer that the country of the United States of America is built on greed, corruption, and lies. I greatly admire the country of canada, and it's peoples way of life. I plan on going to school in canad next year, for I am sick of our government, and how we stick our noses where they should not be. Canada is a great country which i admire greatly and hope one day to live. I will be posting on this website. Thank you. feel free to reply

As far as I'm concerned you say "fuck Bush" all you want, Aslan. Welcome to the board and I hope you find Canada to be all you hope.

I have also thought about it.. My grandparents moved to the US after almost 300 years of French-Canadian heritage. What is happening today here scares me, and if another election disaster or gigantic blunder happens, I think I am going to leave myself. I love Quebec and its beauty and peace. Hoping to get across to the western part of the country soon!

10 RULES TO BEING CANADIAN.....#1..BE POLITE...please and thank you!....#2...You better like beer!....#3...must place the word EH at the end of EVERY sentence, like "HOWS ABOOT PASSING ME ANOTHER BEER EH!", if you choose to live in NFLD, then replace EH with BYE'...#4...Must have a bong, hash pipe, or rolling papers nearby at ALL TIMES..if you choose to live in B.C. then you must have all 3 on your possesion at ALL TIMES!...#5...Thanksgiving is held in October here...not when ever the hell you yanks have it!...#6...You may hear some Canadians say funny words..ie. excuse me..or pardon me..or after you...dont worry aboot it eh, they are just complying to rule #1, they are not insulting you,..#7...If you have guns please leave them behind...unless you want a mountain of paper work to fill out and you want to make the Canadian government spend $80,000 to process it...#8...Must be able to say "It's warmed up! It's only -20 outside now eh!"...with out crying like a little school girl...#9...Canadian words that you best know the meaning of...toque...chinook...block heater...medicare...Cuba...GST...shinny...5 hole.. Henderson....#10....Must be able to proudly say..."My name is______ ______(fill in blanks), and I AM CANADIAN!!" booyah...now pass the bong eh, please and thank you

Just be aware that Canada has many problems and inconsistancies of its own and that these are less picked up on {especially by non Canadians} *only* because the Canadian media doesn't have the global reach and tendency to hype on the negative 24/7 like the American media.

I've met so many Americans that have moved here for the reasons you have that ended up returning to the U.S. because life in Canada wasn't quite what they had thought it was or what the Michael Moores out there led them to believe.

Still, having said that and having been to New Jersey I can't see how you could go wrong by coming here!

I hope you're as loyal to your new country as you are disloyal to your own country. Frankly, people who depend upon the freedom given to them living in either the US or Canada for the right to trash their own countries make me utterly sick.

Freedom was not created by backstabbers and self-haters. It was created by the hard work of centuries of people who worked, suffered, fought and sometimes died for your right to be free. Your post makes me ill.

JGB: The U.S. never had to fight for their freedome or at least the way i see it. You would have all been nice happy Canadians but instead your people had to start a war and become known for your greed and violence.

no harm meant :)

I agree with JBG on this somewhat. If you want to bad mouth and belittle your country of origin what makes you think you are needed somewhere else. Do you have a vision of what your country should be or was. Then it is your right to stand and fight to get it.

My guy is from the states as well, but has been living with me here now for almost a year. We're in the process of getting his Permanent Residence here. What a complicated, stressful, confusing mess that is. It's very difficult, and time consuming but we're doing it!

Aslan, how would you plan on coming over? Working visa?

That could be called a personal choice Trev. But I think if you get on a forum just to piss and moan your doing nothing to remedy the situation thus not standing up to your own convictions.
