It's simply a matter of perspective. When a similar situation occurs in Canada someday, while American troops are occupying our "home and native land", I'm guessing we will be calling him a hero too.

"Heroism" is something of a bogus concept, but, for whatever it's worth, this guy qualifies for hero status.

Good find, OPP.
Good to know you don't wait to see what actually happened before you jump to conclusions. If the soldiers were beating pregnant women. Good for him. If they weren't, I hope the soldiers have a "chat" with him.

Independent sources have since told IPS that Kaissar was captured by a special joint Iraqi-U.S. force, and he is now being held and tortured at the al-Ghizlany military camp in Mosul.

I mentioned that I don't buy the whole concept of heroism, so you can be sure that I won't view this guy as some kind of saint. That said, the situation, as it stands, ensures that he will be viewed as a hero by many Iraqis.

As for the US soldiers, no doubt they want a "chat" with him:

Maybe he won't open fire on American soldiers again.

An unfortunate thing if those soldiers were doing what was alleged.

I recall a "journalist attempted to file a story about american atrocities in Nam.

I was part of the investigating team. The 'journalist provided witnesses who had stood muster miles from the alleged site. No bodies or evidence was found. The RVN arrested the 'journalist" and we had to retrieve him and put him on a plane to Manilla. JAG sent folks around to his US publisher and briefed them on the matter........the story never surfaced because Justice was all set with an injunction.

So much for witnesses!

OPP's distaste of the US quickly eases any misgivings he may have about the credibility of any article that shows the US in a bad light.

It's called hatred.

Hatred for whom/what? Americans? War? Occupations? Women beating?

As for you, your love for all things war related and your beliefe that anglo saxons is the über race pretty much makes any one of your comments on this topic seem rather pointless as they hold no weight whatsoever.

OPP, you add nothing but hatred and bile to this forum.
I have yet to see anything little positive you have ever contributed to forum threads.

Your postings usually consist of infantile musings, mixed with belligerent anti-Americanism.

Really why do you bother?
You are seen as a joke or a 'foiler'.
Don't you have chums in Sweden? Or have you pissed all them off too?

If you ever decide to have a reasoned debate without all the hatred that is bottled inside, I'll respond in like
Until then you will merely remain a hate-filled young man who has little concept of Canadian society, or our relationship with the US.

Your cheering of people who want to kill Bush and your urging of people to kill our own PM says it all.

You are a sad little chap.

And you're full of shit. I haven't posted a topic regarding the war in Iraq or anything similar for a long long time and suddenly when I do thats somehow all I do. I have no hatred for americans. You on the other hand have a deep rooted hatred for me and the comment that sparked it was on Brittain and that I never would accept you as a Canadian as you may hold a citisenship but you'll always be a racist Britt neanderthal in my eyes.

You're a Anti-American Tard who's life consists of trolling the Internet for stories that fit You're Anti-American Rants & Raves..

Even if the Soldiers did what was alleged to have happened is it worth shooting someone over??? If I'm watching someone yelling and pulling a woman's hair, and I tell them to stop, and they tell me to shove it and I in turn shoot them.... I'd go to jail.... for a long time
