I know we have many US posters here, but isn't this post better served to be published on an American website?
And WFT is Natural Law? And how many people do you think you can feed by planting gardens and having a few chickens? Under Natural Law, most of the world's population would have to be killed off.
This sort of idea just adds to the downward spiral of the US - retreat into some sort of organic dream world. Less offensive than the greed is good hogs, but no more helpful, either.

Janis Schmidt Janis Schmidt: Hi, everyone! I'm, a blogwhore and I'm here today to pimp my blog in the hopes of getting my page count up so I can snark up some easy advertising dollars from the host. To help me become one of those market driven tycoons I'm sniping at (because it's trendy and left and we all know how trendy and left Canadians are!) I'd really like you to go visit my blog at http://www.ivegotalameassblog.com and if I make enough money I can move out of my mom's basement and perhaps justify the four years I spent getting a near useless communications degree at a two year college. I'd love to help you get out of mom's basement! ![Drink up [B-o]](./images/smilies/drinkup.gif)

My parents grow stuff in their garden. They have quite a large garden too, and to be honest, if they (there's three of them living together) had to survive on that yield, they'd starve in a week. LOL.
Planting stuff in your backyard is done for 2 reasons, as a hobby, or growing marijuana so you're not risking a criminal record by grabbing from drug dealers.
The only way to survive in these hard times is to hold a candle.

If the Americans need a revolution, they'll have one in 2012. If the government actually suspends constitutional voting rights (Al Gore and John Kerry lost fair and square), then it will be American Revolution Part Deux

The election in 2012 part or the US not supporting a sudden change to totalitarianism? I'm guessing most modern democracies, including Canada, wouldn't support such a move either. Sensational language to be sure, but that's all the OP will listen too.

She.
And she sounds like the opposite of Glenn Beck. I actually agree with her that wall st/business (presumably what she means by "corportograpy") is screwing the average person in the US, just not that the way to deal with it is some back to the land fantasy. If the kleptocracy/corporatocracy really gets to the point she fears, there won't be anywhere to hide.
