I have to say, this act really does define the difference between the Muslim Brotherhood and the people who want an equitable democracy in Egypt.

Also worth noting is that right now it's FOX News and FOX alone reporting this story that shows what the face of moderate islam really looks like.

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2013/08/16 ... -churches/

$1:
The Egyptian defense minister has ordered the repair and reconstruction of all churches that suffered damage in the country’s violent demonstrations since the Egyptian military removed President Mohamed Morsi from power last month.

Defense minister Col. Gen. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi intends to fix the damage to Coptic churches at Rabaa Adaweya and Nahda squares, according to a report by the Mid-East Christian News.

Dozens of churches were attacked and burned in riots after thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of Cairo and other Egyptian cities to demand the end of what they call military rule, following the removal of Morsi on July 3. Many of Morsi's supporters have voiced criticism at Egypt's Christian minority for largely supporting the military's decision to oust him from office.

“The Egyptian defense minister ordered the engineering department of the armed forces to swiftly repair all the affected churches, in recognition of the historical and national role played by our Coptic brothers,” read a statement that aired on Egyptian television.

Bishop Mousa thanked Sisi for his efforts to repair the damaged churches.

“We thank Col. Gen. Sisi for commissioning the brave Egyptian armed forces to rebuild the places of worship damaged during the recent events,” Bishop Mousa said on Twitter.

the MB and their new and move violent offshoots.

Refer back to the very public assassination of Anwar Sadat by the MB. They've always been violent.

the MB will see this as a reason to go after the Christian minority even more vociferously...nope..voraciously...nope... vehemently...yeah that's the word.....I think... :? [doh]. They already blame them for the ouster of Morsi because some archbishop was on the stage with the head of the military council.....completely ignoring the fact that their grand imam was standing beside him too.

That approach to the World is a really good reason to suppress the MB, in my books. They sure shouldn't have power.

I am very impressed that the the Egyptian Military is rebuilding the Coptic Churches. The Egyptian military seems to be the best group there to promote democracy. The MS needs to be corralled strongly to allow democracy to work.

I wish those folks well as Egypt has a great deal of history and culture. I wish them well.

The Assad family was the same in Syria...they made sure that the religious minorities were protected, the rights of women were protected and that Islamic fundamentalists had a boot firmly on their necks. That's the only way it seems possible to have a secular society in a predominantly Muslim society.

This video comes out in favor of the military, and paints the MB as the bad guys.

There's most likely enough damnation to go out for both sides, but because we've only seen the anti-military side on our TVs so far, it's worth giving the other side a view.

Of course they will rebuild the Christian churches in Egypt and the rest of the Arab World where they have been burning them for the past decade.

Unfortunately the Christians who used to go to them have either left as refugees or worse. Arab countries are not a great place to be anything but an Arab male who believes in Islam. Check that beard length brother.....

And, for that matter, the Shah of Iran.

I may be wrong but I believe that is what the Shah in Iran was trying to do, except he didn't quite have the heel of his boot exactly on their neck.

Under the Shah's rule, women had unprecedented freedoms and opportunities in Iranian society. Religious minorities enjoyed protection as well. Once the the Society of Satanic Santas took over this all disappeared. But some deluded individuals would claim Iran is a great democracy.

Just reading about the Muslim Brotherhood and their supporters attacking Christian Churches, orphanages, businesses and schools. Nuns were dragged out of a Franciscan school and paraded through the streets like POWs. Other women working there were sexually assaulted by the mob. This is the true face of the Muslim Brotherhood and those that support them. Those Muslims who stood up for and sheltered their Christian neighbors, face condemnation from those who attend the same mosques.

Look what happened to Lebanon when the Muslims became the majority. There has been a diaspora of Arab Christians for a generation, and it will continue...taking away the best educated and affluent segment of their population.

Religion.

I was in Dublin last month. Catholicism has had it's time there, the Church has way less power and quite rightly so.

Until the Arabs et al stop putting religion before everything else, they will remain in the social Stone Age. Egypt is heading down the path of Islamo-facism like most of the ME. The only people who can be happy with that are the mullahs and arms dealers.
