If I were Prime Minister?
Hmmm......
#1. Fix the Healthcare system with new and innovative ways that will be thought up by myself, my advisors, and a panel made up from all different kinds of people from Doctors, to healthcare professionals from otehr countries, to the very citizens who use the Healthcare system.
#2. Increase the funding to the CSA and the Canadian Space Program significantly and set up rocket launch facilities in Cape Breton, as well as the necessary space program facilities out in Cape Breton.
#3. Procure as soon as possible the new SAR aircraft, new Joint Support Ships for the navy, as well as new Tribal Class Destroyer replacements, and build some more frigates.
#4. Boost our presence in the north by: building a highway to Tuktoyaktuk, building a deep-sea port and airbase at Nanisivik, building a deep-sea port at Churchill, the developing of a new Canadian Forces Base in Iqaluit, and the expansion of the Canadian Rangers.
#5. help reinvigorate the Eastern Economy by contracting Maritime/Atlantic Companies to design, develop and build three new state-of-the-art icebreakers.
#6. Instead of introducing a tough gun-ban, I would introduce legislation that would make the penalties for any crime committed with a gun, legal or not, very severe.
#7. Introduce a National Daycare Program, that would of course vary from province to province.
#8. Introduce "Fallowfields Legislation" for Newfoundland so that any oil found there has to be developed or else it goes to the next highest bidder.
#9. Legalize Marijuana.
#10. Attempt to establish Free/Fair Trade with South Korea and India.
#11. Hold a Referendum in Ontario that would see the creation of: a new province called Northern Ontario with the major cities being Thunder Bay, Timmins, Sudbury and North Bay. The Capital of this new Province would be Sudbury. As a side note to this referendum, the massive Metropolis of Toronto will become similar to a Prefecture of Japan in how it operates. Toronto and the GTA will form a new, mini-province/prefecture of their own and will be left to their own devices, while Queen's Park will still however serve as the House for the MPP's for the rest of Ontario. A new "House" will be built/found in the North for the new Province of Northern Ontario.
#12. Establish Ottawa, Gatineau and the rest of the Outaouais region as the new, National Capital Region, similar to the Australian Capital Territory.
#13. Hold a referendum with the Turks and Caicos Islands to finally settle the issue of whether or not they're gonna join Confederation. As an incentive, I will offer them another Canadian Space Program/CSA launch facility that would be built on one of the islands, bringing employment to the area.
#14. Create a new, First Nation's province that would encompass much of Northern Quebec.
#15. Bring High-Speed Rail in a triangle from Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto.
#16. Instead of forking over billions of dollars to Toronto for a minimal subway expansion that can wait a couple years, I will instead give that money to Winnipeg so that they could develop their own Light-Rail system, and give that money to Saskatchewan and Manitoba to help pay for infrastructure.
#16. Grant big businesses tax levies for the use/development of clean, green, eco-friendly products and systems.
